Now Tommy addresses O-line
So now,..."we have to protect Matt Ryan." I just can't help it I guess.
After neglecting the O-line the last four seasons, other than the bust at LT, Tommy wants to draft linemen.
And to be fair, Tommy did do Clabo and Blaylock a favor as well as McClure ro re-sign them to better contracts but aside from that what's been going with this line has been a disaster in pass blocking and sometimes sweet with the run blocking. Unlike most idiot Falcons fans I and my closest friends appreciated Mularkey and his play calling.
So now,...we have to protect Ryan???
Mularkey's game plan had Ryan getting the ball out so fast McClure and Hawley wouldn't get him hit. Many passes were designed to get it out as fast as possible. When you saw Ryan was running around he had to because the receiver was covered or fell down, whatever, and he often just threw it out of bounds.
Anyone who watches the games again from last season can see there was a hurrying of getting the ball out of Ryan's hands as quick as possible.
This draft won't change nothing. The first problem are the Chiefs. And it'll get uglier after that. But there's still time for the Falcons to make another move but that will cost them so it's not likely. All is set now.
