Round 1, Pick 11 (11) / Dontari Poe / NT / 6'3" / 346 lbs / Memphis / Grade: 89.0
Pick Analysis: Mayock's take: "Think Haloti Ngata. That's the kind of skill set and the kind of size he brings to the table. He's got average college tape, but he's got freakish athletic ability for a big man. Romeo Crennel has a good one here to coach up. ... Most rookie defensive tackles get taken off the field on third downs. This kid's best down is third down."

Hoping for maybe ASU QB Brock Osweiler or MSU QB Kirk Cousins in the 2nd tonight. Maybe we can still luck into a guard if UGAs Cordy Glenn continues to fall.

"Miami (OH) OG Brandon Brooks weighed in at 6-foot-5, 346 and bench pressed 225 pounds 36 times at his Pro Day on Thursday.
The biggest snub of the 2012 Combine, Brooks projects as a second-day pick and was an all-star game phenom after dominating in the MAC. At the Pro Day, Brooks showed his athleticism with a 4.98 forty comparable to Cordy Glenn's in Indianapolis. Brooks' 10-yard split was a similarly impressive 1.71, and his 4.52 short shuttle would have beaten every offensive lineman at the Combine."

This is the ILB I want if we go defense. Unfortunately no strong safeties worth being taken until the 4th. Mychal Kendricks / ILB / Cal

The Chiefs rejected a pair of offers to trade down in order to select NT Dontari Poe at No. 11 overall. "We felt that (Dontari) was the right player for us," GM Scott Pioli said. "We didn't want to move too far away from him and risk the chance of not being able to get him." Pioli chalks up Poe's lack of college production to too many games against shotgun offenses. "At least 49 percent of his snaps were literally plays that could not be deemed plays that would allow him to have production," explained Pioli.
